Lush Rave: Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Hello! I know that I sound like every other beauty blogger, but I really do love Lush! I have loved all of their products that I have tried so far. I know that Lush is expensive so I try to save my products for special occasions. Also, I wait for the one time of year that Lush products go on sale. I wait for after Christmas when all of the holiday products and gift set are 50% which is great! I picked up this Snow Fairy Shower Gel in a gift set last year after Christmas. Snow Fairy is a limited edition scent so you can only get it during the holidays, but it is well worth the wait. Keep on reading if you want to know just how much I love this shower gel!

Snow Fairy Shower Gel

  • has a very sweet, candy scent
  • it has glitter! You can see the glitter in the bottle, but I don't notice any glitter once its out of the bottle
  • creates a ton of lather!
  • leaves the skin with a light hint of the candy scent
  • it doesn't dry out my skin!

I really don't know if I have anymore to say about this awesome shower gel without rambling on and on about how great it is! I really do love this scent, but I use it sparingly so that I don't get sick of the scent. I am really surprised that I like the scent because I normally don't like sweet scents, but I do have a soft spot for Snow Fairy! It is expensive at $10 dollars for the 3.3 oz. bottle, so I do recommend smelling it in person at a Lush store and then waiting for it to come on sale. I love Lush products so please let me know what your favorite Lush products are in the comments below!

Fall Bucket List

Hello! I usually get really excited about Summer and Winter, but this is the first year that I am actually excited for Fall! This is the first year that I will actually get to experience Fall because I have always lived in a part of the USA that doesn't really get a Fall. Since I usually don't do anything for Fall I thought that it would be fun to come up with a Fall bucket list filled with things that I can do during Fall. If you want to know what is on my Fall bucket list then keep on reading!

  1. Wear my boots
    1. I have been waiting for months to wear my boots again!
  2. See the leaves change color
  3. Carve a pumpkin
    • I am terrible at carving a pumpkin, but I hope I will get better
  4. Visit a pumpkin patch
    • Am I the only one who has never been to a pumpkin patch? I have always just bought a pumpkin at a grocery store.
  5. Go on a Haunted Hay Ride
  6. Make pumpkin pie
  7. Catch up on T.V. shows that have started up again
  8. Light my Leaves candle from Bath & Body Works
  9. Go Black Friday Shopping!
  10. Cook Thanksgiving dinner
    • I have never cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner on my own so this one will probably be the hardest thing on this list!
I hope that I will be able to get a least a few of these items crossed off my list before Winter, but if I don't I can always add them to the list for next year! I hope that this list will always be changing as I add and cross things off so that this list is always growing. I am trying to come up with more things to add to this list so please feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments below.

Hot or Not? Body Merry Skincare & Body Care

Hello! I love trying out new products so I was very excited to receive a few Body Merry products to test out. Before this I had never tried any Body Merry products, but I had read good things about the products on Amazon so I was excited to test them out and see if they lived up to the hype! Body Merry is a skincare and body care brand that focuses on natural and organic ingredients. This line is available on the Body Merry website link! and on Amazon. Keep reading to see what I think about Body Merry products!

Eye Gel

This eye gel is suppose to reduce dark circles, puffy under-eyes, and wrinkles. I consistently used this every day for the past month and I really don't think it made a difference to my eye area. I liked the gel consistency which made it easy to apply and it didn't irritate my skin. I really do wish that I had liked this eye gel, but it just didn't work out for me. When I finish using it up I will probably end up trying a different eye cream.

Cellulite Defense

This is a cream that is suppose to reduce the appearance of cellulite and firm up the skin. I tried using this on the back of my legs, but I just didn't see any change in my skin. It has the same menthol smell that seems to be very common in products that target cellulite. It tingled a bit when I applied it which made it seem like it was working, but in reality it didn't improve the appearance of my skin.

Stretch Marks & Scars

This cream is meant to prevent and reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars. I ended up using this as a regular body cream because it didn't do anything for stretch marks and scars. I did like this as a body cream, but I don't think it served its intended purpose.

Overall, I was really underwhelmed with all 3 of the Body Merry products. I really wanted to like the products, but in my opinion none of them lived up to their claims. I know that these products have worked for some people, but I just didn't think that they were very effective for my skin. Since these products didn't work out for me please feel free to leave me suggestions for other products in the comments below.

First Impressions: Four Seasons Brightening Sheet Mask

Hello! If you are a regular reader then you will know that I love using sheet masks. I think that they are a great way to give your skin a quick treat! Lately I have been trying to brighten up my skin so I used this brightening mask by Four Seasons. Four Seasons is a brand of Korean sheet masks that are intended to provide whitening and anti-aging benefits while being affordable. All of their masks are free of benzophenone, talc, mineral oil, petrolatum, artificial dyes, and sodium laurel sulfate. Keep on reading if you want to know my first impressions of the Four Seasons Multi Vita Brightening Active Mask!

Multi Vita Brightening Active Mask link!

  • the sheet was the right shape for my face
  • didn't break me out or irritate my skin
  • I used this at night and my face looked brighter in the morning
  • had a light and fresh scent that wasn't overpowering
  • came with too much serum!
  • there was so much liquid that I couldn't move around while wearing this mask
  • the serum took a really long time to sink into my skin
  • the sheet is really thin so it can't hold up to the massive amount of serum it is soaked in
Overall, this is a nice mask for the price. Right now it is on sale at for 85 cents USD which is a great deal! I would recommend using this mask at night so that in the morning all the remaining serum will be absorbed into your skin. The brightening effect lasted for about a day or so which is probably why it is recommend that you use it 2-3 times a week. I love using sheet masks so please feel free to let me know what your favorite sheet mask is in the comments below so that I can give it a try!

Dear Coffee

Dear Coffee,

In honor of National Coffee Day I have decided to write you a letter as a token of my appreciation for all of your hard work. I know that National Coffee Day was yesterday, but I hope you still enjoy this letter. Over the years I have grown to love you more and more each day. When I was a kid I thought you were a strong and odd drink that only adults drank in the morning. When I was about 17 or 18 I discovered you and your amazing power! Since then I have been hooked and I drink a few cups of you every morning. I love your strong aroma, deep flavor, and your glorious caffeine! I love you for you which is why I only add a splash of creamer or half and half to you in every cup. In the winter I love to have you hot and in the summer I love to have you over ice. I love to make you at home as well and pick you up from my favorite coffee shop. You are always there when I call upon you and I know that I can always count on your help! I look forward to you each and every morning. I also look forward to you each night because I know that you will be there in the morning to help me get a good start to every day. You wake me up for the day and help me be productive! You are a big part of my mornings, but I appreciate you at any time of the day or night. You have helped me stay awake through long lectures, write last minutes papers, babysit kids, and even write this blog! You are my absolute favorite beverage and I don't know where I would be without you! Thank you for all of your help throughout the years and I look forward to us having a wonderful future together!

Thanks again for always being there,

Beauty Haul! Ft. Coastal Scents, Maybelline, Wet n Wild, and Sally Hansen

Hello! I love trying out new beauty products and I thought that I would share my latest finds with you! These are the beauty items that I have picked up over the past week from Target, Amazon, and the 99 Cents Store. I haven't been buying much makeup lately because I have been trying to use up what I already have, but I couldn't help myself and ended up picking up a few things. Keep on reading if you want to know more about my latest beauty haul!

Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette link!

I have been hearing about this palette for the past few years and I finally decided to try it out! It basically has 88 eye shadows in just about every color you can imagine. I would show you pictures, but I'm saving them for a full review. This is the first product that I have ever tried from Coastal Scents and I am very impressed with the quality.

Maybelline Colorblur Matte Lip Pencil link!

I got this in the shade 15 Berry Misbehaved and I love it! This is a bright berry color that is very pigmented and lasts for a really long time. I have worn this a few times and I have completely fallen in love with it! It comes with a smudger on the end to blend it out, but I haven't tried it out yet. When I'm not in the mood for matte lips I just top it with a clear gloss.

Wet n Wild Kohl Eyeliner link!

I got this in the shade Calling Your Bluff because I have been wanting to try the trick of using a nude eyeliner to make the eyes look brighter. I hope that this works because I have been looking for ways to make my eyes look brighter and more awake.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips link!

I know that I am late to the whole nail sticker trend, but I could never justify spending money on stickers when I could just buy a bottle of nail polish for the same price. I ended up finding these at the 99 Cents store and I just could resist picking them up! I had no idea that you could find drugstore brands at the 99 Cents store so I was really surprised to find these in the beauty aisle. I decided on the hounds tooth pattern and a fishnet pattern which both look like something that I would not be able to draw on my nails by myself. I haven't tried these yet, but I will definitely do a review of them once I try them out.

I know that this was a really short haul, but I hope you liked it! I am planning on doing reviews of everything and I am already planning out several looks that I want to feature using the Coastal Scents palettes. Let me know which products I should try out next in the comments below.

First Impressions: Daiso BB Cream

Hello! I have been on the hunt for a good BB cream for awhile so I decided to try the Daiso BB cream. It's only $1.50 USD so I knew that I wouldn't be wasting a ton of money if I didn't like it. In case you were wondering BB stands for beauty balm or blemish balm. Most BB creams are similar to tinted moisturizers with a few added skincare benefits. According to the packaging the Daiso BB cream is meant to be an essence, makeup base, day time care (what does that even mean?), and foundation. I have this in the shades Ochre and Natural Beige. If you want to know my first impressions of the Daiso BB cream then keep on reading!

daiso bb cream swatches

The top swatch is the shade Ochre and the bottom swatch is the shade Natural Beige. These look like two completely different shades in the swatches, but when I blended them out they both looked the same. Once I blended them in they seemed to disappear! None of the color showed up on my skin with either shade which was so disappointing! I wasn't expecting them to have foundation level coverage, but I was expecting them to give me some light coverage.

I was hoping that it would at least give my skin a bit of moisture, but once I blended it into my skin it felt like nothing! Once it dried it felt like I hadn't put anything on my face. I was hoping that this would be a great budget BB cream, but it just did't do anything! It smelled like sunscreen and had a thin texture. It blended out really easily, which is probably its best feature! Overall, the Daiso BB cream just didn't do anything for me! I haven't had the greatest luck with Daiso beauty products, but I know that some people love them so if you have any recommendations for Daiso beauty products please leave them in the comments below.

Coffee Break #2

Hello! I don't really have anything specific to tell you about today so I think this is going to be another coffee break post. I like the idea of doing these coffee breaks so please let me know in the comments below if you enjoy reading these kinds of posts. If you interested in another dose of my coffee break ramblings then keep on reading!

Blogging on a schedule

For the past 2 months or so I have tried to stick to posting every other day. I have done pretty well at this, but I always end up missing a few days. In the beginning I thought that posting every other day would be a great way to build up content. This was a good idea in theory, but in reality I just couldn't stick to this schedule. I would get in the groove of posting every other day, but then life would just get in the way and I would miss a day. It really started bothering me when I couldn't keep up with my self imposed schedule and I realized that it was time to come up with a new schedule. I have noticed that I tend to get more blogging done during the week so I am going to start putting up a new post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This is just so much more manageable than trying to post every other day. In other blogging news...

I bought my domain name!

When I first started blogging I didn't really get why I needed to have my own domain. I didn't mind having the at the end of my web address, but recently I have realized the importance of having my own domain if I am going to take this blog more seriously and treat it like a business. I found a great sale and set it up in about 15 minutes! I like that it makes LittleMissFangirly look more professional.

Coffee Coffee Coffee!

If you are a regular reader then you will know that I love coffee! I seriously need coffee to properly function and get through the day. Lately I have found that my normal 2 cups every morning just isn't waking me up as much as it used to which clearly means that I need more coffee! Ha ha, I know that drinking more coffee isn't the best for me, but I just really love my coffee. I have heard that tea is great for an afternoon pick me up, but I don't think that tea has enough caffeine to keep me awake. I like tea, but I love my coffee! This brings me to my next point....

I need to drink more Water!!

I love water and I'm usually pretty good at drinking it throughout the day, but lately I just haven't been drinking enough water. I have realized that I need to have water right in front of me in order for me to drink it. If it's not right in front of me, you can bet that I won't be drinking it. I know that the obvious solution is to keep a glass of water near me during the day, but that is easier said than done.

Okay, I think that this is a good place to stop for now so I don't just start rambling about nonsense. If you have made it to the end of this post congrats for sticking it out and reading my ramblings!

LUSH Rave: Fun Soap Review

Hello! I love Lush and one of my favorite products is Fun link! which is a multipurpose soap. Its basically soap, shampoo, and bubble bath all rolled together into a dough that you can play with and mold into fun shapes. I may not be a kid anymore, but I love playing with this stuff! Fun comes in quite a few colors that each have their own scent. I have gone into the Lush store quite a few times just to smell and play with the different colors of Fun. There are 5 permanent colors of Fun and there are seasonal colors that are released throughout the year. To use Fun you just break off a small piece and get it wet. Then it will start to foam up and you can use it as soap, shampoo, or bubble bath. Keep reading if you want to know my thoughts on a few colors of Fun!

Red Fun
  • This smells just like oranges
  • I love using this in the morning to help wake me up
Green Fun
  • This has a lemon lime scent that reminds me of 7-Up
  • I like using this with a bit of Red Fun for a citrus smelling shower
Snowman Fun
  • This is a limited edition scent that is part of their holiday collection
  • I think this smells like a combo of the Red and Green Fun
  • It has a bit of black, orange, and white so you can make a snowman!
  • I'm not very artistic so I have decided to spare you a photo of my awful looking snowman! ha ha
Pink Fun
  • This has a very sweet candy like scent
  • Smells just like the Snowfairy shower gel by Lush
Gold Fun
  • This smells like honey and it turned out to be my favorite scent!
  • Smells like the Honey I Washed the Kids Soap from Lush
  • The gold didn't stain my shower!
Overall, Fun is basically soap that is fun to play with and smells great! I do like the amount of lather that it gives and it doesn't dry out my skin. I love playing with Fun and I think it would be perfect for kids. The only con is the price, its about $7 USD for a 8.8oz piece which is pricey for soap. I would love to try making this at home, so if you have any recipes please leave them in the comments below.

NARS Lip Pencil Dupes

Hello! High end makeup is great, but it is expensive so I love finding great inexpensive dupes for high-end makeup. I love that there are so many great drugstore products that are just as great as high end makeup.  I was so happy when I got these NARS lip pencils as my Sephora Insider Birthday Gift because they aren't something that I would have picked up for myself. I ended up totally loving them, but since they are expensive I was determined to find dupes for them that were affordable. After looking for awhile I finally ended up with some great dupes, the Burt's Bees lip crayons which are very similar to the NARS lip pencils. Keep on reading if you want to see the dupes in action!

On the left there are swatches of the NARS Lip Pencils and on the Right are swatches of the Burt's Bees Lip Crayons. The NARS lip pencils come in two different finishes, satin and velvet matte while the Burt's Bees lip crayons come in what I feel is a satin finish.

These are the two nude shades which are the (Top swatch) NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien link! and the ( Bottom Swatch) Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Sedona Sands. link! I know that in the swatches the NARS one looks more pink and the Burts Bees one looks more brown, but they look very similar on the lips. I think that the only difference is that the Burts Bees lip crayon looks a bit lighter that the NARS one when they are on the lips. They both have the same satin finish and aren't drying on the lips. Both of these colors are the perfect your lips, but better kind of colors that really go with any makeup look.

The top swatch is the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella link! and the bottom swatch is the Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Napa Vineyard link! which are both a true red shade. The NARS lip pencil has a matte finish while the Burt's Bees lip crayon has a satin finish, but that is really the only difference between these two products. They are both creamy, highly pigmented, and provide long lasting color. You can easily make the Burts Bees lip crayon a matte finish by dusting a bit of translucent powder over the top.

Overall, I think that the Burt's Bees Lip Crayons are a great dupe for the NARS Lip Pencils. The Burts Bees crayons are really great quality and I think they were just as amazing as the NARS Lip Pencils without the high end price! I had a lot of fun finding these dupes and I can't wait to find more dupes for high end makeup so please leave your favorite drugstore dupes for high end makeup in the comments below.

Beauty Bucket List!

Hello! I love all things beauty related and there is always something that I want to try that I just can't master! For awhile now I have been coming up with a list of beauty things that I would like to accomplish and I have finally gotten around to writing them down.  I thought that I would call this my beauty bucket list. This is just a list of things in no particular order that I would like to accomplish sometime in the future. Keep reading if you want to know what's on my beauty bucket list!

  • using liquid eyeliner! I have been trying to figure this out for years
  • find my perfect shade of red lipstick
    • I have tried a few, but none are the perfect red!
  • applying individual false lashes
    • Since I finally mastered false lashes I have decided to try individuals because I have heard that they can look more natural than regular false lashes.
  • do a fishtail braid with my very curly hair
    • I have tried this before, but my hair got really tangled!
  • color my hair for the first time!
    • I have naturally dark brown hair that I have been dying to change up! I keep wanting to add pink to the tips, but I'm afraid of bleaching my hair.
  • get more creative with styling my hair
    • I am in a serious rut with my hair at the moment! It's so hot so my hair is constantly in a ponytail or a bun.
  • remember to dry brush more regularly!
    • I did a post on dry brushing a few months ago link! but since then I have only done it a few times a month
    • I love dry brushing because it leaves my skin really soft so I really want to get back into the routine of doing it a few times a week
These are the things that are on my beauty bucket list at the moment. I hope that I will accomplish everything on the list at some point in the future. I am always on the lookout for new things to try out so I will probably be adding to this list in the future as well as crossing a few things off. I had a lot of fun coming up with this list and I would love to know what is on your beauty bucket list! Please feel free to let me what is on your beauty bucket list in the comments below.

I Heart Fall Tag!

Hello! I can't wait for Fall so even though it still feels like Summer I am going to do the I Heart Fall Tag. I have seen this tag go around online for the past few years so it feels like time for me to give it a shot! Keep on reading if you want to read my answers to the I Heart Fall Tag!

1. What is your favorite Fall scent?

The scent of the Leaves candle from Bath & Body Works is my favorite Fall scent.

2. What is the best way to spend a rainy day?

Curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee!

3. What is your favorite Fall drink?

Cinnamon flavored coffee which I make by adding cinnamon to my coffee. I know that most people are in love with the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but I just don't like pumpkin flavored coffee drinks.

4. Football. Yay or Nay?

Nay! I'm not into sports at all so Football isn't a big deal for me.

5. What is your favorite article of clothing for Fall?

For me this has to be sweaters! I have way too many sweaters so there is no way that I could pick just one!

6. Haunted House, Haunted Hay Ride or Haunted Corn Maze?

I have always wanted to go on a Haunted Hay Ride, but I have never seen or heard of one in my neighborhood.

7. The scariest movie you've ever seen is...?

I'm not into scary movies so I'm just gonna go with the last scary movie I saw which was The Exorcist.

8. What is your favorite candy to eat on Halloween?

I'm not a big fan of candy, but I do love mint so I have to say Peppermint Patties!

9. What will you or your kids be for Halloween?

I don't have any kids, but I am thinking of dressing up as Abby from NCIS!

10. What is your favorite Fall recipe?

I am going to be really boring and say that I don't one. Seriously nothing is coming to mind! Please leave me your favorite fall recipes in the comments below so I can get some ideas.

11. What is your favorite thing about Fall?

I love the clothes! I love that I can pull out my boots, sweaters, and scarves that have been tucked away in my closet all Summer long!

12. Who else would you like to see complete the I Heart Fall Tag?

I don't have anyone in mind so I am going to leave this open for anyone who wants to do the tag. Please let me know if you do this tag because I would love to see your answers!

Those were my answers to the I Heart Fall Tag! I had a lot of fun answering these questions and I hope that you had fun reading this tag. I didn't think that it was possible, but this tag made me even more excited than I was before about Fall!

See you soon,

Gradual Tan Rave: Ulta Bronze Glow Daily Moisturizer

Hello! Since Summer is coming to an end and Fall is almost here I thought that I would share my favorite gradual tanner with you. I think that gradual tanners are a great way to maintain a bit of a glow throughout the cooler months. I don't like to have a super dark tan, but I do like a bit of a glow to give my skin a bit of color. I have pretty light skin so I tend to have a hard time finding a product that doesn't turn me super dark or even worse orange! The thought of turning orange held me back from trying self tanners for years, but eventually I discovered gradual tanners. I love gradual tanners because they are super easy to apply and they don't give too much color at one time. Keep reading if you want to know what I think of the Ulta Bronze Glow Daily Moisturizer. link!

  • not streaky
  • has a light and fresh scent
  • dries in about 10 minutes
  • doesn't rub off onto clothes
  • adds just enough color for my skin
  • fades naturally without leaving patches
  • after about 4-5 days it leaves a nice bronze glow

  • leaves behind a hint of that typical self tanner scent for the first few hours
Overall, I really love this gradual tanner because it leaves the perfect amount of color and it's not very expensive. I usually apply this with plastic gloves because I'm afraid of my hands getting too dark, but I know that most people just use their hands. This gradual tanner is my absolute favorite at the moment and I try to use it at least a few days out of the week in place of my regular body lotion. I have tried other gradual tanners in the past, but they were either too orange or didn't leave any color. I have tried a few traditional self tanners, but I haven't found the perfect one yet so please leave your suggestions for self tanners and gradual tanners in the comments below.

Fiesta VoxBox Unboxing!

Hello! I am so excited to be doing my first unboxing post! This is the Fiesta VoxBox from Influenster, which is a website that allows you to review and discover new products. You do not need a blog to join and sometimes they send select Influensters to receive VoxBoxes which contain samples for you to review. You can sign up for Influenster here link! if you want the chance to receive your very own VoxBox. In case you were wondering this post is not sponsored by Influenster, I just really like the site and to be completely honest I love getting Voxboxes!  I love getting VoxBoxes because they give me the chance to try new products. Keep on reading if you want to know what I received in my Fiesta VoxBox!

Suave Skin Solutions Advanced Therapy Body Lotion link!

I have never tried this lotion before, but I have tried other Suave body lotions in the past so I think I will like this one. This lotion is meant for dry skin so I'm sure that I will enjoy using this in the winter. This lotion is unscented so I will probably mix it with a scented body lotion because I like for my body lotion to have a scent. By the way this is a 10 oz bottle which is huge for a sample!

No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream for Normal/Oily Skin link!

I have never tried this before, but it is a great travel size and I will probably take it with me the next time I go on a trip. The No7 line is from Boots which is a drugstore that we don't have in the USA, but I have seen this brand at Target.

Premier Protein Yogurt Peanut Crunch Bar link!

This is another item that I have never heard of before, but it does sound tasty! I love to keep a bar in my purse when I'm on the go for a quick snack. I love peanuts so I'm sure that I will like this bar. I prefer crunchy bars over chewy bars so I'm glad that this bar is meant to be crunchy.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder link!

This is the one product that I have tried in the past and I absolutely love it! This is a great matte bronzer that is just the perfect color for my fair skin. I think that this is the best matte bronzer from the drugstore! I love that this isn't packed with shimmer like most drugstore bronzers. I haven't used this bronzer in a few years so I can't wait to use it again! The best part of this bronzer is that it is less that $3 USD! I really can't say enough good things about this bronzer!

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner link!

I have never tried this shampoo and conditioner, but they do smell great! They smell like coconut which is one of my favorite scents for hair products. These are meant to be moisturizing so I hope that they will work for my very dry and curly hair. These are great travel sizes so they will be perfect for taking on a trip!

Arnold/Brownberry/Oroweat Healthful Bread

This is a free coupon for one free loaf of Healthful Bread which comes in 3 different varieties, Flax & Sunflower, Nuts & Seeds, and Steel Cut Oats & Honey. I love bread with a ton of seeds so I can't wait to try this out! I think this will be perfect for sandwiches.

Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream

This is a free coupon for Daisy Sour Cream that comes in a squeeze pouch. I'm not a big fan of the flavor of sour cream on its own so I will probably use this to make dip. I have been loving dip at the moment so please feel free to leave your favorite dip in the comments below!

Outback Steakhouse Bloomin' Onion

This is a coupon for one free Bloomin' Onion at any Outback Steakhouse Restaurant. I don't have a Outback Steakhouse nearby so I will probably give this coupon to someone who can use it.

Overall, I'm really with what I received in this VoxBox and I will have a lot of fun trying out so many new products! I was surprised to get so many products because in my last VoxBox I only received one product to try out. I already know that I love the brozner and I can't wait to fall in love with it all over again! I think that this is a great mix of food and beauty products which does sound like an odd combination now that I think about it. Let me know in the comments below which products you want me to review in future posts.

See you soon,

*I received all of these products for free to test from Influenster and the sign up link is a referral link. The links above are affiliate links and my full disclaimer can be found at the top of the page. This post is not sponsored by Influenster.*

First Impressions: The Face Shop Mung Bean Sheet Mask

Hello! Here is a First Impressions of The Face Shop's Mung Bean Sheet Mask link! which is part of the real nature collection and costs about $2 USD. I picked this up in my skincare haul from The Face Shop a few months ago link! along with a few other sheet masks from the real nature collection. I decided to try the mung bean mask because it looked interesting and also because it is mean to be clarifying. I figured that this would be a great sheet mask to try for my oily skin. Keep reading if you want to know my first impressions of this sheet mask!

First Impressions

  • has a fresh scent
  • it fit my face!
  • sticks to the face very well
  • doesn't slide off the face
  • has enough liquid so it doesn't dry out too fast
  • didn't dry out my skin!
  • left my skin feeling smooth and soft without any oily residue
Overall, I really enjoyed using this sheet mask. This was the first time that I had tried a sheet mask from The Face Shop and I was very impressed with the performance of this sheet mask. When I picked up this mask I knew that it was a lower end mask so I didn't think that I would like it so much! I can't wait to try out other masks from The Face Shop and I will definitely be repurchasing the mung bean sheet mask. By the way am I the only person who has never heard of mung beans? I will admit that part of the appeal of this mask was that I had no clue about mung beans so I figured it was something I had to try. This may just be me, but I find Asian skincare and beauty so fascinating because it is very different than what I am used to in the US. I love trying new masks so please leave your recommendations for face masks in the comments below.

First Impressions: The Face Shop Blackhead Out Dual Pore Strips

Hello! You may remember that I picked up this dual nose strip in my skincare haul from The Face Shop  link! and I was really curious to see how it worked. I just tried it out so I thought that I would do a First Impressions to let you know if it worked out for me. This is the BLACKHEAD OUT dual pore strips link! from The Face Shop. I noticed that you can buy boxes of each of the strips separately, but they only sell the dual strips individually. This is a set of two strips that are meant to remove blackheads and tighten the pores. If you want to know how I feel about these pore strips then keep on reading!

Step 1

This pore strip is meant to remove the blackheads from your nose. The directions said to leave the strip on for 10-15 minutes and then use a cotton swab to gently remove the blackheads. I assumed that this strip would be similar to the Biore pore strips that I have tried in the past, but this is very different! This strip is basically a sheet mask for your nose. I had a really hard time getting the strip to stick to my nose and it just kept sliding off my nose. After about 10 minutes I noticed that the strip was starting to burn my nose so I took it off. I think that this was because of the witch hazel which I have found does not work for my skin. I tried using a q-tip to remove my blackheads, but none of them came off! I was so disappointed that step 1 didn't do anything, but I decided to just go ahead and use step 2.

Step 2

This second strip is meant to tighten the pores once your blackheads are gone. After step 1 not working for me I didn't have high hopes for this strip. This strip is a gel nose strip. It's just like a gel face mask and it did do a better job of sticking to my nose than the first strip. This strip didn't irritate my nose, but it didn't do anything! It felt nice and cooling while it was on, but after leaving it on for 15 minutes I peeled it off to discover that my nose looked just the same as when I had started this process.

Overall, I was really disappointed with these pore strips. They are a lot more time consuming than traditional pore strips and in my opinion they don't work. These may work better for other people, but I was not impressed by these pore strips. I love The Face Shop, but I will definitely not be repurchasing these again in the future. Since these didn't work for me please feel free to leave me recommendations for your favorite pore strips or blackhead removers in the comments below.

What I've Learned in the First 3 Months of Blogging

Hello! I have officially been blogging for 3 months and in that time I have learned a ton! I started this blog off as a creative outlet for me to share my love of all things girly with the world. When I started this blog I had absolutely no idea about what I was getting myself into by blogging. I thought that I would just start writing and maybe a few people would check it out. In these first 3 months I have learned so much information and I want to share it with you!

I have always loved reading, but I never imagined that I would enjoy writing so much! I really didn't think that I would have much to share, but once I started writing I realized that it was so easy to write about things that I find interesting! Blogging is great because you are the one in control of your content. You don't have to follow any rules which gives you the freedom to get creative with your writing. I now look back at my first few posts and cringe when I read them. I sounded so odd and overly formal, but after awhile I got the hand of it. Once I got the hang of writing posts I realized that I really do have my own writing style. The best piece of advice I would give to anyone who wants to start blogging is to just start writing! No ones first post is perfect, but with time you will get better!

When I first started blogging I didn't know anything about photography! I just sat down with a few products and started taking pictures on my phone. Since then I have learned a few things about taking and editing photos. I now set aside some time each week to take photos which is so much easier than taking photos each time that I sit down to write a post. I tend to stick to a white background for most of my photos which I create by laying out a white sheet over my bed or on the floor. I try to use natural light when I can and I have discovered the golden hour of photography. The golden hour is the magical hour of either sunrise or sunset. This allows for the best natural light for photos. I take all my photos with my phone or my basic Kodak point and shoot camera that is about 10 years old. I am now looking into a better camera for blogging so feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments below. In the beginning I didn't edit any of my photos, but I quickly realized that a bit of editing can make any photo look better. I use PicMonkey to edit all of my photos. PicMonkey is a free photo editing website that is great for editing photos. There is also a paid version of PicMonkey which gives your more editing options, but for now the basic version works great!

Blogging as a Business

In the beginning I didn't view my blog as a business, but now I have realized that I am basically running my own small business. It took me awhile to realize that it is actually possible for a blog to turn into a business. I have realized that there are a lot of ways that I can make money off my blog even though I don't have a really large following. I use Amazon Affiliates, which is an affiliate program in which I make a small commission from every Amazon purchase that is made through the product links that I share in my posts. There are quite a few affiliate programs out there and you don't need to have a large following to sign up for most of them. I have also worked with a few companies who have sent me free products in exchange for my honest reviews. As long as I am able to share my honest thoughts and opinions with my readers, I don't have a problem with doing sponsored product reviews. I have found that there are quite a few different websites and networks that can put you in touch with companies who are looking for bloggers to promote and reviews their products. Some companies will give you free products and others will pay you money as well as give you the product or service to try. A few sites and networks that I am a member of are Tomoson link!, One2One Network link!, and BrandBacker link! just to name a few.

Gaining Readers

In the beginning I only had a few page views a day, but this didn't bother me because I knew that even the big blogs that get a ton of views started off with just a few page views. When I started blogging I told myself that I would be happy if I had 3 people reading my blog. I was so excited when I got my first few views and that is what motivated me to keep blogging. After the first month or so I found out that there are a few things you can do to get your blog read by a bigger audience. I joined a few blog engagement groups on Facebook such as Grow Your Blog link!, Show Your Blog Love link!, and The Blog Love Project link!. These groups all basically operate the same way. They have threads where you can leave your links to your blog posts, Twitter posts, Pinterest pins, and other social media links. People will check out your links in exchange for checking out their links. Each groups has its own set of rules, but they all have the same basic premise. This does take quite a bit of time, but I have seen growth in my page views since being an active member of these groups. I have also been able to connect with fellow bloggers which is something that I never would been able to do without getting involved in these groups.

Overall, I have really learned a lot in these first 3 months of blogging. Three months ago I never would have imagined that I would love blogging as much as I do now! I initially thought that this blog would just be a hobby for me, but in a short amount of time it has turned into my very own small business. This journey has been a lot of fun and I hope to continue this blog for as long as possible. I don't know where this blog may take me, but I hope that down the line I enjoy blogging just as much or more than I do right now!

Battle of the Sunscreens! Featuring Biore, Aveeno, & OZ Naturals

Hello and welcome to the battle of the sunscreens! Recently I have been trying out 3 sunscreens and I have decided that its time for a showdown! I have been using them for a few months now so I think I can give them an honest review. I wear sunscreen on my face just about every day so I definitely put these sunscreens to the test. I had a lot of fun trying them out and I think I found a winner! Keep reading if you want to know which sunscreen came out on top!

I have decided to start with my least favorite and work towards my favorite so that you have something to look forward to at the end!

Biore UV Perfect Face Milk in SPF 50 PA++++ link!

  • this is my least favorite out of the three
  • has a very thin and watery consistency
  • leaves my face looking white!
  • I'm already light, but this leaves me a stark pasty white
  • this does feel very light on the skin
  • this does have a matte finish
  • has a strong alcohol scent!
I really wish that this didn't leave me looking like a ghost! If it wasn't for the color and the strong scent I think I would really like this sunscreen. I think this would be a great sunscreen for someone who is super pale, but its just not for me.

OZ Naturals Age Defying Solar Shield Tinted Sunscreen in SPF 30* link!

  • This is my second best of the three sunscreens
  • This has a medium tint that is meant to blend with most skintones
  • I found this to be a bit too dark for my skin
  • I wish this came in more shades instead of just one
  • This is a great sunscreen overall
  • Doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin
  • Has that typical sunscreen scent
This really is a great sunscreen and I wish it came in more shades. If it wasn't for the color being off, this would definitely be in the running for my favorite sunscreen. I have managed to wear this by mixing it with a foundation that is too light to even out the color. This sunscreen does blend well with makeup which is a plus. This is a great sunscreen for anyone that has a medium skin tone.

Aveeno Protect + Hydrate Lotion Sunscreen in SPF 50 link!

  • This is my current favorite sunscreen!
  • It blends well
  • works great under makeup
  • has a light citrus scent
  • doesn't leave a white cast
  • feels light on the skin
  • has a matte finish
I could go on and on about this sunscreen! I have been looking for a great sunscreen for the past few years, so I was so happy when I found this one. I love it so much that I have a backup since I'm almost done with my first tube. Right now this is my absolute favorite so I will be comparing every other sunscreen to this one!

I hope you enjoyed this battle of the sunscreens because I had a lot of fun trying out and comparing these sunscreens. I found my clear winner right away which was great! What are your favorite sunscreens? Do want to see more product battles? Please feel free to leave your answers in the comments below.

Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse for Soft and Shiny Hair!

Hello! Lately I have been looking for DIY hair treatments to try out and I found the apple cider vinegar rise. Actually I have been hearing about this rinse for awhile, but I just recently tried it out and loved it! This rise is meant to make hair soft, shiny, and more manageable. The main reason it took me so long to try this out was that I was afraid of my hair smelling like apple cider vinegar, but I finally just took the plunge! I loved the way my hair felt after trying this rinse so I thought I would share it with you. Keep reading if you want to know how to do this super easy hair rinse!

  • apple cider vinegar
  • water
  • spray bottle ( you can also use a cup, but a spray bottle is so much easier!)
That's all you need!

  • 1. Fill your spray bottle with water and apple cider vinegar
    • the amount of vinegar to water depends on your hair type and length
    • I have really thick and curly hair so I used about 1/3 of a cup of vinegar and 1 cup of water
    • generally speaking thick hair can tolerate more vinegar and thin hair needs less vinegar
    • no matter what you hair type you always want to use more water than vinegar
  • 2. Shake to mix the 2 ingredients together and apply to your hair
    • spray this all over your hair from root to tip
    • this is great for your scalp too so don't be afraid of getting it on your roots
    • try not to get this in your eyes! Trust me it will sting!!! This is why I recommend using a spray bottle instead of using a cup and pouring the rinse over your head
    • you can do this after you shampoo in place of conditioner or after your conditioner
    • leave this in your hair for a few minutes and then rinse your hair with water
That's all there is to this hair treatment! My hair smelled like the vinegar for a few hours, but then it went away. This rinse left my hair really soft, shiny, and manageable. I was worried that the vinegar would dry my hair out, but it left my hair feeling really moisturized! I know that I haven't been doing this for very long, but since it turned out so great I just had to share it! Have you ever tried the apple cider vinegar rinse or any other hair rinses? Please feel free to leave you answers in the comments below.

Pedicure Routine!

Hello! Since we are in sandal season I pay a lot of attention to my feet. In the winter no one ever looks at my feet because I am wearing close toed shoes so I don't need to have my feet looking perfect. This totally changes in the summer when I basically live in sandals and wedges. During the summer I know that everyone can see my feet so I try to keep them looking at their best. I try to do this about once a week, but really I just do this whenever I have the time. If you would like to learn about my pedicure routine then keep on reading!

I like to start off my pedicure routine when I get out of the shower so that the skin on my feet is soft and easy to work with instead of trying to work with dry feet. The first thing that I do is use a pumice stone on the bottom of my feet to remove any callouses or rough skin. My favorite is this one from Daiso which does a great job while not being too rough. (I thought you would appreciate seeing a new pumice stone instead of the used one!) Then I like to use a foot mask to really moisturize my feet. Foot masks are basically like using a face mask for your feet, but instead of the liquid being on a sheet the liquid is inside of booties that you put on your feet. My favorite foot mask is from Daiso, but if you don't have a foot mask then you can always just use a foot cream or a thick body cream.

After I have taken off my mask and waited for my feet to dry, its time for polish! I always use a base coat on my toes just like I do on my nails. My favorite is the Foundation Base Coat from NUBAR link! but you can use whichever base coat you have on hand. Lately my favorite color on my toes has been OPI's Strawberry Margarita link! which is a bright, cool toned pink. I usually forget to use a top coat, but polish on my toes always seems to last so much longer than polish on my nails. Does anyone know why polish always lasts so long on toes, but not on fingers? Anyways, that's the end of my pedicure routine! If you are interested in nails you can check out my post on nail art with a sponge here link!

DIY Crayon Lipstick!

Hello! I have been dying to try making my own lipstick and I finally found a method that works! This is so easy to make and you only need 2 ingredients, crayons and coconut oil. I wasn't sure about using crayons at first, but I found out that crayons are basically just paraffin wax and non-toxic coloring. From what I have read its perfectly safe to use on your face because they are safe for kids to eat. If you want to learn how to make you own lipstick then keep reading!

All you need is crayons and coconut oil! I used Crayola crayons because their colors tend to be more vibrant than other crayons.

Step 1:
  • peel the wrapper off the crayons and break them into small pieces
  • place a small amount of coconut oil and broken crayon pieces into a glass bowl or dish
  • the amount of coconut oil you use will determine the pigmentation of your lipstick
  • for more sheer coverage use more coconut oil, for more pigmentation use less coconut oil
  • you can mix the colors to create any color you desire
  • I used the equivalent of half a crayon for each lipstick
Step 2:
  • hold your glass container over a lit candle to melt the crayons and coconut oil
  • this only takes a minute or two to melt
  • stir to mix the melted crayons and coconut oil together
Step 3:
  • pour the mixture into your chosen container
  • then you can pop it into the fridge for 10-15 minutes to let the lipstick set up
  • that's it!
Here's my finished lipsticks!

I loved how the colors turned out, but next time I will use more coconut oil so they have a smoother consistency. The pigmentation was better than I expected which was amazing! These lipsticks are a matte finish and are surprisingly long lasting. I had a lot of fun making these and I can't wait to make more colors! Have you ever tried making your own lipsticks? What are your favorite beauty DIY's? Please feel free to leave your answers in the comments below.

Nail Art with a Sponge

Hello! I love experimenting with different nail looks and this is my latest one which only requires nail polish and a sponge. I don't know what to call this because its not really a specific design, but I do like the look. It's a mix of quite a few colors that blend together to create a watercolor or kaleidoscope effect. I love this look because it looks like you spent a ton of time on your nails while still be super easy to achieve at home. Besides regular nail polish, the only tool you need is a makeup sponge so you probably already have these items in your home. Here's how you can get this look at home:

These are the colors I used (Clockwise from the top)

Extreme Color Nail Lacquer in Ice (This is pretty old so I couldn't find a link)

OPI Nail Lacquer in All Rose Lead to Rome (This is discontinued)

Revlon Nail Enamel in Silver Dollar link!

Maybelline Colorama in 107 Turquoise Seas (This is another discontinued color)

OPI Nail Lacquer in Kinki in Helsinki link!

I also used a triangular makeup sponge that I cut into 5 pieces.  Then I poured out a small bit of each color onto a paper plate and started randomly dabbing on each color. I did this right on top of a clear base coat, but you can use any color that you would like as your base. I just kept dabbing on the colors until I was happy with the look. I let this fully dry before adding a glittery top coat. I was so excited to do this that I totally forgot to take pictures!

This is the Wet n Wild Wild Shine nail color in Kaleidoscope link! which is a clear color with holographic glitter that I used as a top coat. I only applied one coat in the picture, but since then I have applied another coat to add more glitter. That's all there is to it for this super easy nail look! I really love this color combination, but you can use any colors that you like with this look. I had a lot of fun doing this and I can't wait to try this again with different colors. I love experimenting with nail art so please leave your recommendations for other nail looks in the comments below.
