Totally Free Beauty Samples!

I love trying out the latest beauty products, but one thing I love even more is trying out free beauty products! Over the past few years I have tried dozens of new beauty products without spending any money. I have received both high end and low end brand name beauty samples. I have received samples of makeup, perfume, hair products, skincare products, as well as body products all for free. Samples are a great way to try out products and see if they work for you before spending the money on the full size product. There are also times that you will receive full size products for free. Here are a few simple ways to get totally free beauty samples:

  • sign up for the beauty insider card which is a free loyalty card that allows you to earn points for every purchase you make
  • you can exchange these points for deluxe samples
  • you also get a free birthday gift that doesn't require a purchase
  • you can also ask any employee if they will give you a sample
  • they are usually willing to give samples of skincare products and sometimes foundation
Pinch Me

  • this is a website that gives out a variety of different samples
  • the website posts the day and time that samples are released
  • you fill up your box with samples and then your box is shipped
  • you are expected to leave a short review of the products before you can request more samples
  • the samples usually come with a coupon for the full size product
Deparment Stores

  • over the years I have scored samples from beauty counters
  • you don't have to buy anything to receive the samples

  • recently magazines have started including samples
  • I have found the most samples in Allure magazine
  • these are usually small, single use samples
  • I have found  high end samples such as Chanel foundation and skincare

  • this is a website that gives you points based on your social impact, which is basically how many followers you have on various social media platforms
  • you also get points for answering questions and leaving product reviews on the website
  • they also give out voxboxes, which are boxes filled with free products (both samples and full sizes) from either one brand or a variety of brands
  • they send out surveys to see if you qualify for these voxboxes (you receive these surveys if you are actively participating and gaining points on the website)
  • they do ask that you review the products

  • this is one of many sites that list free samples by mail
  • this website is updated daily
  • provides a wide variety of samples
  • not all the samples are directly from the manufacturer so check before giving out your information
Those are just a few of the ways that you can get free beauty product samples. With a little work you can end up with quite a variety of beauty samples. I have never had to pay anything (including shipping) for samples so please don't give out your information to a website that asks you to pay shipping for a free sample. Have you every received any free samples? I am always on the lookout for new samples so please feel free to let me know in the comments below.

Daiso Haul!

Yesterday I went to Daiso, which is a Japanese store that sells a large variety of items that are all $1.50 USD. I love going to Daiso instead of a typical dollar store because everything is so cute! I love all of the adorable and inexpensive things that I can find. I always go to Daiso thinking that I only need to pick up a few things, but I always walk out with a ton of things. I could seriously ramble on and on for days about my love for Daiso, but for now I will get on to the haul!

These cotton puffs are the reason that I went to Daiso in the first place! These are my favorite cotton pads to use because they are soft, don't leave any residue, and you get a ton of them. I use these for toner and occasionally for removing my eye makeup.

This is my absolute favorite pumice stone! It gets rid of the dead skin on the bottom of my feet without being too harsh. I already have one, but they are hard to track down so I decided to get a few back ups.

I decided to try out this face brush because I can no longer find the Daiso konjac sponge. I have tried out this brush once so I need to use it more before I can give a review.

I tried out this towel holder because I need a new towel holder. I haven't tried it yet so I don't know if it will actually stick to the wall.

I was so excited to find these disposable gloves because I had just ran out of my old pack of gloves! Disposable gloves are so handy for things like hair coloring and applying self tanner.

This was definitely an impulse buy, but its just so darn cute! I can't wait to have a new box of kleenex so that I can try it out!

This is another impulse buy! I thought that these were so cute and will definitely be replacing my cork coasters in my room.

I actually needed a new sponge for the shower so I decided to try out this one. I have never used it but it looks like it will get the job done.

I had a lot of fun on this Daiso trip and I hoped that you enjoyed getting a look at what I bought. Let
me know if you enjoy this haul and if you would like me to continue doing haul posts. I am also curious to know if you have a Daiso in your area or what are you favorite Daiso items? Please feel to let me know in the comments below.

Try It! Daiso Eyeshadows

Welcome to the new series I am starting which is Try It! This is a series where I will try new products or projects for the first time. Today I am trying some new eye shadows that I picked up at Daiso. Daiso is a japanese store that carries a wide variety of items that are all priced at $1.50 in the United States. On my last trip to Daiso I decided to try out these eye shadows because they looked like they had a variety of colors that I could use to create a ton of new looks. Lets take a look at how I liked them!

This is the Santee New Palette Matte Duo (heart shaped shadows)

  • the colors didn't show up well
  • not all of the colors are matte
  • a few colors are shimmery
  • very powdery and chalky
  • shimmery colors have better color payoff

This is the Santee Wet Eyeshadow Beauty Secret Kit

  • all have a satin to shimmery finish
  • the lighter colors didn't show up very well
  • very chalky and hard to blend
  • using them wet or dry did not affect the pigmentation

This is the Santee New Palette Matte Duo (octagon shaped)

  • not all matte shades
  • shimmery shades have better pigmentation
  • chalky/powdery
  • hard to blend
After trying all three of these palettes, I must admit that I don't like any of the palettes. While the colors are bright and vibrant in the pan they just don't have good pigmentation. All the shadows are chalky, powdery, and very difficult to blend out. I know that I shouldn't have expected them to be amazing because they are only $1.50 but I was hoping that they might compare with drugstore palettes. Although I am not blown away with these palettes, it wont stop me from trying more Daiso makeup. What are your suggestions for other products I should try out? Please feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments below.

DIY Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

This is a super quick and easy facial toner that you can make in about 1 minute! It only contains two ingredients, apple cider vinegar and water. Apple cider vinegar is know to help minimize the look of pores, remove impurities, balance the skin's pH, fade acne scars, and has anti-bacterial properties. I have been using this DIY toner for about two months and I have seen an improvement in my skin! My skin is smoother and clearer than it was when I was using a harsh toner from the drugstore. Here are the simple steps to make it at home:

  1. Fill your chosen container about 1/2  to 3/4 of the way full of the apple cider vinegar (I know that most people recommend using organic and unfiltered apple cider vinegar, but the regular one works great!)
  2.  Fill the container the rest of the way with clean drinking water (don't use water that you wouldn't want to drink)
  3. That's it!
I haven't had any problems using this toner on my face every morning and night. I am now considering trying out some more DIY skincare so please leave your recommendations in the comments below.

Summer Beauty Favorites 2015

It may not quite be summer yet, but it sure is starting to feel like it! I have been using some amazing products lately and I thought I would share them with you. During the Summer I actually don't like using too many products so I just narrow it down to the things that I really love. Here are some of my favorite beauty products for the summer.

These are my current summer beauty favorites. As you can probably tell I'm trying not to use too many products that will just slip off my face in the heat. This may change as the summer goes on, I may discover some amazing products that I work into my beauty routine. What are some of your favorite beauty products for the summer? Battle of the Mascaras

These are the mascaras that I am currently using so I decided to review them in order to see which one is the best. They are Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant, Canmake Gokubuto mascara in Dreaming Night Blue, Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Edge Meister, and Covergirl Clumpcrusher Extensions Lashblast. Except for the Canmake mascara they are all in the color black. The Canmake and Majolica Majorca are both Japanese brands so they are a bit hard to track down in the US. I got mine at an Asian beauty store, but they can be found online. Here is the Battle of the Mascaras!

  • Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant
    • This was my least favorite of the bunch
    • It did add quite a bit of volume
    • It didn't hold curl very well at all
    • smudged horribly
    • The large end of the wand was difficult to maneuver
    • Canmake Gokubuto
      • This is an average mascara
      • The wand is easy to use
      • It is quite a dry formula
      • It provides a decent amount of volume
      • Didn't smudge throughout the day
      • The blue color was very subtle and not too dramatic
    • Covergirl Clumpcrusher Extensions Lashblast
      • This is a great drugstore mascara that is readily available in the US
      • The rubber bristles on the wand really help to separate and define the lashes
      • Adds volume without clumping
      • Adds length that lasts with fibers
      • Smudgeproof
    • Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Edge Meister
      •  This is my holy grail mascara!!
      • The fibers give a ton of length
      • Adds volume without clumping
      • Holds curl all day
      • Smudgeproof
      • Water-resistant
That was the Battle of the Mascaras! It looks like the Majolica Majorca mascara was the winner. I had a lot of fun trying out all of the mascaras and reviewing them. I will probably do another Battle of the Mascaras when I have tried out a few more mascaras. I am always on the hunt for new mascaras so please leave me your suggestions in the comments. What is your holy grail mascara?

    DIY Coffee Body Scrub

I absolutely love drinking coffee in the morning so I have decided to make a body scrub using coffee grounds. This is a great way to use leftover coffee grounds instead of just throwing them away. This is a really simple body scrub that only uses two ingredients, olive oil and coffee grounds. The olive oil is very moisturizing and coffee is known for its firming effects when applied to the skin. This scrub is very exfoliating without being overly harsh. It also smells great! All you have to do is mix about half a cup of used coffee coffee grounds with a quarter to half a cup of olive oil.  There's no need for exact measurements so feel free to add as much or as little as you would like of the olive oil and coffee grounds. That's all there is to it! You can also add sugar or salt if you want more exfoliation. I have also heard of using cinnamon, vanilla extract, or peppermint extract to make it smell even more amazing. I love trying out diy beauty ideas so please leave your suggestions below! By the way what is your favorite body scrub recipe?

    DIY Ance Scar Mask

This is a simple mask that you can make at home with only two ingredients, honey and cinnamon. This mask is great for clearing up acne scars, acne, discoloration, and reducing pore size. The honey is very moisturizing, anti-bacterial, and has healing properties which are all beneficial to the skin. The cinnamon is an anti-fungal, astringent, and anti-viral. There are a few simple steps:
    1. mix about a 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon with 2 tablespoons of honey (I just eyeball this, you don't need to be exact)
    2. apply all over the face avoiding the eyes!
    3. leave it on for about 20-30 minutes (be careful with it dripping!)
    4. wash it off and your done
That's all there is to it! I love this mask because it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and its super easy to make. Since doing this mask several times I have noticed that some of my acne scars have gotten lighter and the blackheads on my nose were gone. I am going to keep using this and see if my skin keeps improving. I usually try to do this once a week but I have heard that you can do it up to two times a week. I love trying out face masks and seeing if they work for fading my acne scars. Do you have any ideas for masks that I can try out?

    About Me

Hello! I am Diana and I run this little corner of the internet know as LittleMissFangirly. I love my fandoms and OTP's (one true pairing). I wanted to have a space where I could talk about all things girly and all things fandom related. I'm a big caffeine junkie and a coffee lover which is why I say that this blog runs on strong coffee. I don't know where this journey will take me, but I hope you join me for the ride!
