D.I.Y Sheet Mask

Hello! If you are a regular reader then you will know that I love using face masks. I think that they are great for my skin, but they are also just a fun and relaxing treat for myself. Sheet masks are really easy to make at home and the best part is that you can customize them to your specific skincare needs. I usually try to do them once a week, but I know that in some parts of the world women use sheet masks up to once a day. Here's how you can make your own in just a few simple steps:

You will need to start out with plain sheet masks
  • I like using the compressed ones like these link! because I find that they fit my face better than the ones that aren't compressed
  • they look like little pills and they are really inexpensive
  • or you can use masks that aren't compressed like the one of the right of the photo above
Then you need the liquid of your choice
  • you can use a toner or essence
  • you can also use liquids such as tea, water, or milk
  • you can use just about anything you want as long as it is a liquid
  • I like using green tea which is great for oily or acne prone skin
Just soak your mask in the liquid and apply the mask to your face
  • with a compressed mask you put the liquid in a small bowl and then drop in the mask
  • the mask will absorb the liquid and expand
  • then you open the mask and put it on your face
  • for a non-compressed mask just soak it in the liquid and apply it to the face
  • I usually let my mask sit on my face for between 20 and 45 minutes (you will look like a serial killer for awhile but its totally worth it!)
  • you can leave the mask on for however long you want or until it dries up
This is a really quick and easy treat for your skin. I like playing around and trying different things to see what works best on my skin. I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy diy sheet masks.
